Welcome to another Monday!
Good Morning Ladies,
Im in such a good mood today. I weighed myself this morning and I was just below my high school weight. I have lost 100.8 lbs since surgery. I even walked to the library today and its a mile from my apartment. It felt good to walk and thinking a year ago I wouldnt be able to do that and was walking with a cane. Has improved alot since surgery. Its sunny and supposed to get up to 50 today so hopefully the warm weather is coming upon us. We had some snow yesterday but it didnt last long. I have another busy week ahead of me. I have to take my friend for cat scan tomorrow for her gall bladder. She is having it taken out on April 17. Then Wednesday I have to take her to her Dr's appt. to get cleared for surgery. Thursday I have a Dr's appt. for a checkup with my regular Dr. Then Friday Im going to my brother's for the weekend.
Prayers for everyone.
Hugs,
Yvonne
Hello Yvonne..... congratulations on your weight loss!!!! You have done a great job!!!
You sure do have a busy week ahead. Remember to leave sometime for you.
I am sure you will have a great Easter weekend with your family. I have opted to stay home. I don't feel like I can travel.
Love and hugs to you...connie d
Good Morning Ladies!! Up early, took a shower, and now doing laundry. Determined to have a no-carb day -- protein and veggies only. Have to get rid of the Carb Demon.
Yvonne - sounds like you have a busy week ahead -- nice of you to help your friend getting to her medical appts. CONGRATULATIONS on reaching the 100 pound milestone. You've certainly done great. It's wonderful to have better mobility too. When I was going through the pre-op classes, I had to use a wheelchair to get to the conference room. Now I use a cane, and I'm so happy with that.
Hugs and prayers to all!

Good morning Carla and everyone....
Carla....yup at 10,000 miles you are way over needing an oil change! I always liked having my tires rotated too. They last much longer that way and keep the car balanced better.
Hope you are enjoying your coffee!
I went out for my second walk yesterday. I was just about at the end of my walk and my walker wheel caught on a uneven part of the sidewalk. I tried to keep hold of the walker. It collapsed and we both hit the ground. I have a skinned up shin and had a huge lump there. I have a bruise on my bad hip....thank goodness it didn't break again. My knees hurt as I caught myself on them so I that made me have less presser on my hip. I so didn't need this. I kept icing myself and using my TENS Unit. It helped some. This morning I am very stiff, sore and achy. I am not happy with ME today!!
I am not sure I will get both walks in today. I did one and ...OUCH!!
Wishing you all a great day!!!
Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families.
Lots of love and oodles of hugs to all....connie d
Connie: I'm so sorry you fell yesterday. Sounds like a nasty one too. You must have one of the old fashioned walkers like I have. They are the pits to use outside. We got my MIL (when she was alive) one of those walkers with the big tires and brakes. They work a lot better on uneven pavement. Were you close to the complex building when you fell? I hope the complex knows about the uneven pavement. They really should have that repaired before someone takes a really serious fall.
Take care of yourself. I know you must be disappointed after working so hard to get up to a couple of walks a day. You will get back to that, don't fret.

Hi again Cindy!!!
I didn't tell them about the fall. I need to watch more carefully what I am doing. I was watching the birds and forgot about that part of the sidewalk. That is the only spot here like that. Yes, I fell at the end of the building....no one could see me there.
I don't want to report that I fell. After three falls here you are moved to Assisted Living. I don't need that!! I am in pain and I am icing and using my heating pad. Also my TENS unit. I went out and did my second walk. I did fine. I know I will be extra achy for a few days. I am going to mention that they need to check into repairing that area.
Thanks so much for caring!!
Love and more hugs to you...connie d
Connie: I can't blame you for not wishing to be moved to Assisted Living. Especially since you don't really need that level of intervention/care. I do think it's a good idea to mention that the sidewalk needs to be repaired. Someone could fall and hurt themselves badly and the complex would be liable for injuries.
Falling is one of the big hazards for people our age and older. I'm so leery of falling -- I try to be careful. But, as I mentioned in another post I lost my footing last week and hit hard on a chair. It just takes a split second to happen.
I'm glad you were able to go out on your second walk. You are one strong lady!
